Thanks to all who came to our Grand Opening and helped to make it a memorable event.

2011 East TN Labor Day Picnic
Despite the rain, we had a good turnout from all over East Tennessee for our picnic, with great speeches by TN AFL-CIO president Jerry Lee, Teachers Assoc. Representative Reba Luttrell, and TN Senator Andy Berke. Thanks to everyone involved, who helped make this an event to remember.

Second Harvest Fundraiser

The Roane County Democratic Party would like to thank everyone who came out and contributed to the success of the Second Harvest Fundraiser at Market Street Fountain. RCDP helped raise nearly $500.00 toward this worthy charity. Second Harvest helps feed hungry Tennesseans in 18 East Tennessee counties. Market Street Fountain was a great partner in this worthy cause. Lots of delicious food and ice cream was bought and served during the fundraiser. Our good friend Jack Hume has passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Jack was a good man and an active Roane County Democrat.

Jack was a very accomplished person as his Roane County News Obit shows.

A called meeting of the Roane County Democratic Party Executive Committee was held 6:30 p.m. December 16th at the Roane County Park Cottage meeting room for the purpose of ratifying By Law changes. The By Laws were approved by a quorum of the Executive Committee.

The Young Democrats Club is open to all students interested in learning about or becoming a democrat or those that support a democratic candidate. Anyone may join at any time. National, state, and local elected officials speak to members throughout the year. Students may travel to the state capital, help to campaign for democratic candidates, and other various activities. There is no membership fee for this club. Meetings are held in gym when announced.
